Noraini Ruslan, June 28, 2024June 28, 2024
Dr Noraini Ruslan won GOLD medal at the International Research and Innovation Symposium Competition (RISE 2024) for EGYE Program

I am thrilled to share some exciting news from our Environmental Management and Conservation Research Unit (eNCORe) at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). Our project, “Empowering Future Scientists with Earth Guardian Young Explorer (EGYE) Program – Biodiversity and Environmental Monitoring Assessment through Education and Innovation,” has won the GOLD medal at the International Research and Innovation Symposium Competition (RISE 2024)! 🏅

As the Head of eNCORe and the Director of the Earth Guardian Young Explorer Program, this recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible team: Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Saifullah Bin Rusiman, Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Suliadi Firdaus Bin Sufahani, Prof. Madya Ts. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Latiff Bin Abu Bakar, and Dr. Nor Atiqah Binti Norazlimi.

Why is Holistic Environmental Education Crucial?

In today’s rapidly changing world, it is more important than ever to equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills to ensure a sustainable future. Holistic environmental education plays a pivotal role in fostering leadership capacity and providing comprehensive training to young minds. The Earth Guardian Young Explorer (EGYE) Program is dedicated to building this foundation.

Our Comprehensive Approach

Our program encompasses a broad range of educational activities designed to immerse students in real-world environmental challenges:

  • Biodiversity Assessment: Students learn to monitor and protect our planet’s rich biodiversity through hands-on activities and fieldwork.
  • Water Quality Monitoring: We provide students with practical experience using real scientific monitoring devices to assess water quality.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Our program instills a deep sense of responsibility and care for the environment, encouraging students to become proactive stewards of our natural resources.
  • Educational Games: We produce a variety of custom-designed games that simulate real-world environmental challenges. These include topics like PLC company sustainability in Malaysia, peat swamp management, mangrove management, rainforest conservation, and ecosystem services.
  • Educational Handbook: Our comprehensive handbooks guide students through lab and fieldwork activities, ensuring they gain valuable skills and knowledge.

Why This Matters

Every industry impacts the environment differently, and it is essential to tailor Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to address these unique challenges. By engaging the next generation in environmental education, we can mitigate negative impacts and bring about meaningful benefits to our ecosystems. The Earth Guardian Young Explorer (EGYE) Program is designed to do just that, ensuring our future leaders are well-equipped to tackle the environmental issues specific to their fields.

Join Us in Shaping the Future

The Earth Guardian Young Explorer (EGYE) Program is paving the way for a new era of environmental education in Malaysia. Our program, akin to the Rakan Muda initiative but focused on environmental stewardship, is copyrighted and built to inspire and empower young minds.

Support Our Mission

We are open to partnerships, grants, and consultations to further this important initiative. Your support can help us expand our impact and ensure the sustainability of our activities. Together, we can drive positive change and foster a sustainable world.
